The River Runs Heritage is our entry-level fly rod — an ideal first rod for those learning to fly fish, or a reliable backup for the experienced angler. The classic medium-fast action is forgiving and easy to cast, helping beginners develop good technique without fighting the rod.
Available in two of New Zealand's most versatile line weights — 9' #5 and 9' #6 — both rods break down into 4 pieces for easy travel into the backcountry. Whether you're heading to a South Island river or exploring remote water, these rods are built to handle NZ conditions.
Both models come with a Cordura rod tube and cloth bag. The #6 line model goes a step further with a reel case attached to the tube for added convenience. Spare tips and sections are available for warranty or purchase.
