What wader sizing advice can you offer?
What wader sizing advice can you offer?
Getting the right fit in your waders is crucial. Follow the sizing chart carefully, as wader sizing often differs from regular clothing sizes. Always crouch when trying on waders — if you feel restriction across the back, seat, or knees, you need a larger size, as tight waders will stress the seams and cause leaks. Pay attention to foot fit — neoprene booties need to fit snugly, as excess material will fold inside your wading boots and wear through prematurely. Check the warranty and care instructions before use, as improper washing or storage can void your warranty. For general care, rinse waders in fresh water after each use, hang to dry inside-out away from direct sunlight, and store loosely to avoid crease damage. Not sure about sizing? We offer try-on appointments — contact us to arrange a time and try before you buy.
Do you sell fishing licences, or where can I get one?
Do you sell fishing licences, or where can I get one?
We don't sell fishing licences, but here's a quick overview of how it works in New Zealand. Freshwater fishing (trout, salmon, perch and other sport fish): A licence is required. For most of the country, licences are issued by Fish & Game New Zealand and can be purchased online at fishandgame.org.nz. Taupō region: The Taupō fishery is managed separately by the Department of Conservation (DOC) — you'll need a Taupō fishing licence, available at doc.govt.nz. Sea fishing: No licence is required for recreational saltwater fishing in New Zealand, though bag limits and size restrictions still apply under the Fisheries Act, and some areas are designated no-take marine reserves. In all cases, ensure you are familiar with the regulations — ignorance is never accepted as an excuse by enforcement officers, so please do your research and don't hesitate to contact us for advice.
