Hello again fellow fly fishers,
Well unfortunately the report this week is going to be very short as last Friday I got symptoms of Covid and this was confirmed with a rat test on Saturday morning after a none too pleasant night. This is a reminder to everybody to be careful out there. I have managed to dodge this beast for 2 and a half years and it has finally caught up with me and on Monday, especially, it was pretty severe. I am pleased to say I am on the mend, however, and by the weekend I should be fine. No one is totally immune here as I have had multiple vaccinations (and thankfully I did or it could have been much more serious), so as I say, be careful out there. Whilst people are no longer required to wear masks in most places and several other restrictions have been lifted, one has to be aware that there is a nasty virus out there with new variants entering the system all the time and daily cases are actually increasing.
Needless to say, I have had no trips to the river this week so a more detailed report will follow next week. The I Love Fly Fishing Shop has obviously been closed all week but will reopen on Saturday . This week has seen typical Spring weather with a mixture of rain, sun and wind so I’m picking the fishing is pretty much the same as last week. So I’ll sign off there and I should be able to give you a more comprehensive report next week.
