Tyler’s first Fly Fishing Competition
I Love Fly Fishing ambassador Tyler Green fished in his first fly fishing competition this past weekend. The Manawatu Regional Champs was held on the Manawatu River near Palmerston North. It consisted of 3 x 2-hour sessions. The competition was organised by Sports Fly Fishing New Zealand.
Tyler started off with a tough first session, only landing one but cleaned up in the second session landing 7 fish. This placed him 3rd for the session. His last session was on a tough stretch but he gave it his all:
“I knew it was going to be super hard so I went in with the mindset to fish my best and I tried my hardest but blanked. After all I learnt to much. I ended up coming 3rd place for the second session and really enjoyed the experience and can wait for another comp.“
Well done Tyler, that’s a great effort for you first comp and we love the mindset of giving it your best. It’ll only be upward from here.
The final placings for the completion were: 1st Craig Anderson, 2nd Kriss Stravs and 3rd Tim Anderson.
