Corixia (Back Swimmer)

Fly fishing with Corixia (back swimmers) in New Zealand is best done in still or sluggish water.  Whilst free swimming they seldom moves far from cover.  They are air breathers and swim to the surface from time to time and trap an air bubble which they hold under their abdomen.  Similar but not the same are Water Boatman.
