How to set up a Strike Indicator, New Zealand Style

Why do I use a New Zealand style strike indicator?

I’ve tried bobbers I’ve tried putty I’ve tried various other indicators, the main benefist for me are that it doesn’t impair casting, it’s very light it’s, very small, it has very little resistance and it lands very lightly on the water so doesn’t spook fish as easily as something like a bobber plonking down or a piece of putty.

The tubing also makes it adjustable so you can just move it up and down to change the depth of your flies. It’s very easy to carry a few different colors and you can change the size if you don’t like it that big you can just chop it down. You can make different size indicators to suit your situation. I believe this system is the perfect indicator system for me.
