Central North Island Rivers Fishing Well

Brain Wilson, Turangi-based guide and owner of Fishing and Guiding Turangi Ltd. (8 Wiremu Street) reports that the central north island rivers are fishing well.

The photo is one of a number of fish he caught (this one underneath an overhanging dead tree), at the Whakapapa River. He also caught a nice brown in the same spot. This fish was around 5lb but he was broken off by two much larger fish further upstream.
